Sober Comedy London January Special

The biggest thank you to everyone that joined us on Sunday afternoon at the BackYard Comedy Club.

Our January Special really was such a fantastic afternoon, with the most wonderful audience in attendance at this London alcohol-free event.

Not a drop of alcohol was to seen anywhere, just a fun-loving large alcohol-free comedy attentive audience at this London sober event.

On the afternoon lots of awareness was brought to our show partners The Forward Trust & Taking Action on Addiction campaign.

From doors opening at 2pm at this large London sober event had guests arrive early to enjoy the pre-show social.

This gave people the chance to catch up in a safe alcohol-free environment, with lots of pre-show games on offer including, Pool Table Tennis & Table Football.

The BackYard also had an extensive alcohol-free drinks menu, with big brand alcohol-free drinks and adult soft drinks.

As the atmosphere built towards show time 3.15pm, we headed on through into the main showroom to get ready for this BIG afternoon of alcohol-free comedy.

Settling us in for the afternoon was one of our favorite female acts, Sally-Anne Hayward . Sally had the audience in the palm of her hand from the off, with lots of laughter ringing round the showroom.

First up we welcomed Josh James to the stage. Josh is currently touring his own show ‘Doin Alright’ but stopped by to join us. Josh was very well received by the audience, the perfect start to the afternoon.

After a short interval we then welcomed to the stage Stefano Paolini. Stefano Paolini reached the semi finals of BGT back in 2022, and what a stand out performance he delivered. With a fine blend of stand-up, beat boxing and hilarious impressions the audience went with him from the off.

To close the afternoon, we welcomed Slim. Slim has appeared on Live at the Apollo and sold out the Hackney Empire, but was there with us at Sober Comedy London! The roof was well and truly taken off.

The sound of alcohol-free laughter was non stop all afternoon long, proving the having fun without alcohol really is possible!
